Subjects#
This area allows you to store the subjects that your school offer to students.
Tip
SIMS integration is available for subjects.
Creating a Subject#
To create a new subject select the subjects option from the configuration lists section of the side menu. This will load the current subjects.
Click the add button on the tables action bar to create a new subject.
You’ll need to complete the required fields before clicking the save button.
Tip
The name and code of the subject must be unique across all subjects.
Tip
To provide a more customisable experience you can choose the colour scheme for the subject. This will carry through the system allowing a uniform display for all subjects.
Editing a Subject#
To edit a subject select the Subjects option from the Configuration Lists section of the side menu. This will load the current subjects.
To update a subject, click the corresponding subject card on the screen to open the edit view.
You can edit the details of the subject within the Subject Details section. Once updated, click the save button.
You can also assign staff members to a subject, this allows us to provide additional functionality to users who supervise a subject area. To add a new member click the add button on the tables action bar. This will open a popup window where you can select one or more staff members to be added to the subject. Once selected, click the Add Selected button to add the staff members.
You can mark a user as a supervisor of a group by clicking the corresponding Supervisor checkbox in the table.
Tip
You can’t edit the details of a subject that are being synced with a third party system. To edit these details, update them within the third parties own system.
Deleting a Subject#
To delete a subject select the Subjects option from the Configuration Lists section of the side menu. This will load the current subjects.
Click the corresponding delete button and confirm your choice to delete the subject.
Tip
You can’t delete a subject that is being synced with a third party system. To remove this subject, remove it from the third parties own system.
