Initial Setup#

When first setting up the Bookings module you should complete the following steps.


In general the following should be configured:

  • Ensure that all of your staff members are created. See Creating A User for more information.

  • Add any Time Slot Groups that you’d like to have available for use, see Time Slot Groups for more information.

  • Add any Time Slot Entries that you’d like to have available for use, see Time Slot Entries for more information.

  • Add any Resource Types that you’d like to have available for use, see Resource Types for more information.

  • Add any Resources that you’d like to have available for use, see Resources for more information.

  • Select an appropriate maximum booking date to restrict how far in the future bookings can be made, see Default Max Booking Date Setting for more information.

You should also ensure that staff have permission to book resources, our recommendation is that you provide all staff that should be able to make bookings the following permissions:

  • Book Resources

Caution

In order to remain secure, it’s considered a good approach to only assign permissions to people that actually need them. To this end you should ensure that you only provide permissions to staff that need them.

Administrators should be provided additional permissions as required.
