Resource Types#

Resource Types are the groups that resources are assigned to. They allow similar resources to be grouped and help to configure your preferences for making them available to book.

Creating a Resource Type#

Tip

You should configure a time slot group before creating a resource type.

To create a resource type select the Create option from the Resource Types section of the side menu. You should then complete the required fields.

If you would like resources of this type to have a different maximum date for bookings than the default, select it in the option on screen.

Tip

If you don’t select a specific max booking date for this resource type, the default will be used.

You can allow specific users to book beyond this date by selecting a user group that contains the desired users in the “Max Booking Date Exceptions” drop down list.

Once complete click the save button to create the resource type.

Editing a Resource Type#

To edit an existing resource type select the View / Edit option from the Resource Types section of the side menu. This will load the current list of resource types.

Select the desired resource type by checking the corresponding checkbox and clicking the edit icon on the tables action bar. This will open the edit resource type view.

Here you can edit the details of the resource type. You can change any of the details of the resource type.

Tip

You’ll be unable to change the time slot group assigned to the resource type if there are currently bookings for a resource of that type. This prevents bookings becoming inaccessible due to these changes.

To save the updates, click the save button.

Deleting a Resource Type#

To delete an existing resource type select the View / Edit option from the Resource Types section of the side menu. This will load the current list of resource types.

Select the desired resource type by checking the corresponding checkbox and clicking the delete icon on the tables action bar. You’ll be asked to confirm the action before the resource types are deleted.

Tip

You won’t be able to delete a resource type if it has active resources assigned to it. You’ll need to delete those resources first.
