Readiness Check#
This process has been created to help you with the initial setup each year so that you can easily see anything that doesn’t look like it has been configured yet. It has been designed to be run at the start of an academic year, before applications have been opened.
Important
Please be aware that this process does not guarantee that everything is configured the way you would like it to be but just provides a best guess at things that look incorrect.
Important
Running this process after you have started accepting applications could present incorrect results.
The readiness check process looks at numerous areas and presents reasons for them being invalid as well as some warnings when something looks questionable.
Tip
A warning doesn’t mean that something is invalid, it simply means that we feel the need to bring it to your attention.
A checklist showing the errors and warnings will be displayed once the checks are completed.
The contents of the readiness check and details about each item are shown below.
Additional Application Questions#
The Additional Questions are checked to see if any have been configured. If none have been configured you will see a warning letting you know this is the case.
Important
Just because this passes doesn’t mean the questions you want to appear in applications are available. You should ensure they are all present.
Tip
If this is intended, just ignore the warning.
Academic Years List#
The academic years list is checked to ensure you have configured at least one year.
Important
Just because this passes doesn’t mean the year you want to accept applications for is available. You should ensure it is.
Application Activity Notifications Setting#
The Application Activity Notifications setting is checked to ensure it has a valid group selected and that the selected group contains at least one user.
Application Deadline Date Setting#
The Application Deadline Date setting is checked to ensure that a date is provided and that the specified date is in the future.
Tip
If you’d rather not utilise this settings functionality you can set it’s value to one a long way in the future so that this check always passes.
Applications for Academic Year Setting#
The Applications For Academic Year setting is checked to ensure that an academic year has been selected.
Application Statuses List#
The Application Statuses list is checked to ensure that some are configured within the selected academic year.
Important
Just because this passes doesn’t mean the statuses you want to be able to assign to applications are available. You should ensure they are all present.
Close Applications On Setting#
The Close Applications On setting is checked to ensure that it has a value and that the value is in the future.
Important
Just because this passes doesn’t mean the application close date is correct. You should ensure the date is set as intended.
Courses List#
The Courses list is checked to ensure that some are configured within the selected academic year.
Important
Just because this passes doesn’t mean the courses you want to assign to option blocks are all available. You should ensure they are all present.
Enable Document Uploads Setting#
The Enable Document Uploads setting is checked to ensure that it has a valid value.
Genders List#
The genders list is checked to ensure that some are configured.
Important
Just because this passes doesn’t mean the genders you want to be able select are available. You should ensure they are all present.
Highlight Applicants Born After Setting#
The Highlight Applicants Born Outside setting is checked to ensure that it has a date and that the specified date is in the past. It will show a warning if the date is within the last 15 years as that is questionably too recent a date due to the age for applying to sixth form (in most cases) being 16.
Tip
You can ignore the warning about the date being too recent if this is your intended behaviour.
Open Applications On Setting#
The Open Applications On setting is checked to ensure that it has a date value present.
Important
Just because this passes doesn’t mean the application open date is correct. You should ensure the date is set as intended.
Option Block Courses List#
The Option Block Courses list is checked to ensure that some are configured within the selected academic year. It will display a warning if one of your configured option blocks doesn’t have any courses assigned.
Important
Just because this passes doesn’t mean the option block courses you want applicants to be able to select are available. You should ensure they are all present.
Tip
If the option block is supposed to have no course mappings then you can ignore the warning.
Option Block List#
The Option Blocks list is checked to ensure that some are configured within the selected academic year.

Just because this passes doesn’t mean the option blocks you want to assign courses to for selection are all available. You should ensure they are all present.
School Application Review Status Setting#
The School Application Review Status setting is checked to ensure it has a value and that it’s value corresponds to an application status for the selected academic year.
