This tab is designed to show senior leaders at the school a picture of the students with an attendance percentage that represents persistent absence. It provides detailed and summarised information allowing school leaders to identify issues and intervene before they become more serious.
There are 3 views available for this data, each shows a variation of the persistent absence data. The school can use these to focus on different areas of student absences and target reasons for absence that they feel need more attention.
The overall view shows persistent absence calculated while treating both authorised and unauthorised absence codes as codes that represent an absence. This is what you would normally consider to represent your persistent absence rate.
You can use the filters at the top of the screen to choose which year groups you want to view. Once selected the report will show the content for those groups. You’ll be able to see a summary comparing the groups that includes:
The name of the year group.
Number of Students
How many students are included in the calculation. This will include any student who was ever on roll within the selected academic year.
Students with Persistent Absence
How many students in the group are classified as having a persistent absence.
Persistent Absence %
The calculated persistent absence percentage for the group.
