File Consent#
File Consent is a mechanism that allows the school to record consent that has been collected outside of the system. This allows all of your consent to be in a central location and a record kept regarding historical consent. Users can also withdraw this consent using their My Account page instead of having to contact the school.
Recording File Consent#
You can record a file consent item for a user by navigating to their user profile or by selecting the View / Edit option from the File Consent section of the side menu. This will open the user’s existing consent, once here you can see the consent and associated preference for any recorded consent items. To record a new file consent item, click the add button.
You can then provide the information about the consent that was given by the user.
Date
The date that the consent was last amended by the user. i.e. the date on the form.
Consent Type
The type of consent that was provided. This list is configurable by the school.
Is Consent Provided
Did the provide consent or not based on the file.
Notes
Optionally provide any additional notes relating to the consent.
File
The file that contains the consent preference of the user.
Student
If the consent was provided on behalf of a specific student, choose them here to link the consent to their account.
Once you’ve entered the information click the save button to record the consent.
Editing File Consent#
You can edit a file consent item for a user by navigating to their user profile or by selecting the View / Edit option from the File Consent section of the side menu. This will open the user’s existing consent, once here you can see the consent and associated preference for any recorded consent items. To edit a file consent item click the corresponding edit button.
You can then update the consent entries information including:
Consent Type
The type of consent that was provided. This list is configurable by the school.
Is Consent Provided
Did the provide consent or not based on the file.
Notes
Optionally provide any additional notes relating to the consent.
Once you’ve made the desired changes, click the save button to save the updated information.
Tip
In order to reduce the chances of breaching regulatory requirements you can’t edit some of the details of this file consent. If you need to update the date of consent, the attached file or the related student, you’ll need to delete the consent entry and create a new one.
