Initial Setup#

When first setting up the Compliance module you should complete the following steps.


In general the following should be configured:

  • Ensure that all of your staff members are created. See Creating A User for more information.

  • Add all Data Protection Staff to the default user group to ensure they can access and perform the necessary tasks. See Pre-Defined Groups for details about the permissions automatically assigned. You should review these permissions to ensure they are suitable for your needs.

  • Select the schools Data Protection Officer in the Data Protection Officer setting.

  • Add any policy documents that should be available for your staff to view. See Policy Documents for more.

To use the Data Breaches functionality, you should also configure the following:

  • Add any data breach categories that you would like to use.

  • Add any data breach sub categories that you would like to use.

To use the Consent functionality, you should also configure the following:

  • Add any consent statements that you would like to ask your users to approve or deny. See Consent Statements for more.

  • Add any file consent types that you would like to be available for use. See File Consent Types for more.

To use the Staff Audits functionality, you should also configure the following:

  • Add any staff audit questions you would like to ask the staff. See Staff Audit Questions for more information.

To use the Staff Training Record functionality, you should also configure the following:

  • Add any training record entry types that you would like to use.
