Permissions#
All functionality is protected by one or more permissions to allow the school to choose which members of staff are authorised to access each function. This ensures that different staff with different responsibilities can access only the features that they need to complete their job and nothing more.
Tip
When assigning permissions to user groups we recommend you follow best practices and try to adhere to the principal of least privilege. This essentially means only assign people the permissions they need to do their job and nothing more. Keeping this in mind when updating permission assignments reduces the risk of possible data breach by ensuring people simply don’t have access to something they don’t need.
Tip
We recommend that you perform regular permission reviews of user groups to ensure that you’ve not assigned permissions that shouldn’t be there or left old permissions assigned as the purpose of a group changes.
Permissions are available for the features your school has purchased, any permissions you don’t see are likely hidden because the school has some functionality disabled. If you’d like to speak to us about enabling additional functionality, please contact your account manager.
