Safeguarding Summary#
This report is designed to show senior leaders at the school an overview of the current position for concern reports within the school. It shows a set of summary charts with associated data tables to allow full visibility of all information.
When analysing data this report uses the date of concern to filter reports. This means that when selecting an academic year to view reports for, you will be shown all reports that have a date of concern within that academic year no matter when they were reported to the school.
Concern reports that have been rejected or awaiting their initial review are not included in the analytics.
You can also use the filters at the top of the screen to further refine the results if you’re trying to answer a specific question.
Tip
The default view for all data sets is the chart. You can switch to the tabular data by clicking the table button within each data card.
Tip
Data items are shown as an individual segment within a chart if they make up more than 4% of the total data. This is to prevent having a tiny segment for a data item that makes up a negligible portion of the chart. Having these small segments makes the chart very difficult to read and gain insights from. If you want to see the data in full, just click the table button to see the full data set.
Tip
Click on a segment of the chart or the associated table to be taken to a detailed list of the concern reports.
Tip
Clicking the download data button will download the associated data as a csv file enabling the school to perform additional analysis using the data.
Areas of Concern#
The areas of concern chart shows a breakdown of concern reports by their areas of concern within the selected set of filters.
Tip
A concern report can have more than one area of concern applied and as such the total numbers within this chart will likely be higher than the total number of concern reports.
Concern Types#
The concern types chart shows a breakdown of concern reports by their concern type within the selected set of filters.

A concern report can have more than one concern type applied and as such the total numbers within this chart will likely be higher than the total number of concern reports.
Ethnicity#
The ethnicity chart shows a breakdown of the concern reports related ethnic groups based on the students included in the report.
Tip
Some reports will have multiple ethnicities associated to them as they will contain more than one student.
Free School Meal Status#
The free school meals chart shows a breakdown of the concern reports related free school meal status groups based on the students included in the report.
Tip
Some reports will have multiple groups associated to them as they will contain more than one student.
Genders#
The genders chart shows a breakdown of the concern reports related genders based on the students included in the report.
Tip
Some reports will have multiple genders associated to them as they will contain more than one student.
Interventions#
The interventions chart shows a breakdown of concern reports by their interventions within the selected filters.
Tip
An intervention can be assigned multiple times within a concern report and as such the total numbers within this chart will likely be higher than the total number of concern reports.
SEN Provisions#
The SEN Provision chart shows a breakdown of the concern reports related SEN provision groups based on the students included in the report.
Tip
Some reports will have multiple SEN provisions associated to them as they will contain more than one student.
Year Groups#
The year groups chart shows a breakdown of the concern reports related year groups based on the students included in the report.
Tip
Some reports will have multiple year groups associated to them as they will contain more than one student.

You can filter the dashboard to show all related statistical information for the selected subset of students. The currently available filters are:

In order to apply a set of filters, click the filter results button and update the drop down lists to the relevant options before clicking the apply button.
Students#
You can view a breakdown of students and their total number of reports by clicking the students number in the top section of the report.
